B4BC Skate The Lake

B4BC's 22nd Skate the Lake August 1 & 2. Skate the Lake in Lake Tahoe covers 28 miles along North Lake Tahoe, beginning at Sugar Pine Point and ending at Commons Beach. Participants can skateboard, bike, or roller-skate the route as part of a collective push to promote a healthy, active lifestyle as the best means to cancer prevention while fundraising for B4BC’s education and survivorship programs. It is a two-day event, with a kick-off party the first evening that includes live music, auctions, and raffles. The next morning, participants gather at the start-line for their 28-mile journey. Recently introduced is an option to drop in at Palisades Tahoe Village to meet the group and jam out the last seven miles of the route. At the finish line, we join for food and beverages from our sponsors, live music, prizes, and awards to the top fundraisers! Over the years, more than 2,800 people have gathered for event and, in conjunction with Skate the Coast, we have raised upwards of $1,000,000 for breast cancer education, prevention, and survivor support.  Skate The Lake ...

Tahoe City Heritage Celebration

As part of this special countywide event, we’re opening our doors to welcome the community for an afternoon of local history, live music, and refreshments. This event is FREE and open to the public, making it the perfect opportunity to explore our exhibits, connect with neighbors, and discover the stories that shaped our region along the Heritage Trails. Enjoy lively tunes, light bites, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere as we celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Placer County. Concerts at Commons Beach

Free Live Music Every Sunday! Concerts at Commons Beach offer free, live Sunday afternoon music (typically 4–7 PM) from June through September, featuring an eclectic mix of blues rock funk bluegrass and reggae. Set against Lake Tahoe, this is a family-friendly, high-energy event with local food, beer, and views.  Genre Variety: The lineup brings diverse musical acts, including funk and R&B (Cool Cool Cool), Americana/roots (Dead Winter Carpenters), and high-octane bluegrass (Poor Man’s Whiskey). Atmosphere: It is a beloved, laid-back community tradition where attendees set up low-back chairs and blankets on the grass amphitheater. Tahoe City Octoberfest

Tahoe City Downtown Association presents the annual Tahoe City Oktoberfest at the Gatekeepers Museum in Tahoe City, is a free family-friendly event, with food and drinks available for purchase. Commemorative Oktoberfest beer glasses will be available along with beer tickets for guests ages 21+. Bavarian-themed food items will be available from local food trucks. Children attending Oktoberfest are invited to paint a pumpkin. Pumpkins will be free (first come, first served), and art supplies will be provided. Face painting will also be offered. Featuring craft beers from some of the region’s best microbreweries, live music, great food, traditional Bavarian-themed games, and a craft vendor village $25 in advance and $30 at the door.
