REQUIRED COUNTY STR PERMIT INFORMATION: STR 23-7756 | TOT #83141 | Max Occupancy is 6 | 4 Parking Spaces. Parking on the street is strictly prohibited. All vehicles must be parked in the driveway and/or garage at all times. Guest must agree to read and comply with Placer County's Good Neighbor Policies.

County Rules
As part of the Short-Term Rental Permit for this home, the county asks that we share the important rules and regulations with you. We appreciate your cooperation in following the guidelines listed below, also included in your signed Vacation Rental Agreement.

Maximum Occupancy: There shall be no gatherings, events, weddings or other group functions on the Premises with more people than the number of persons stated on the Agreement.

Parking: Parking on the street is prohibited at all times. All cars, boats, and trailers must be parked in the garage and/or driveway.

Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are 9pm-8am, seven days a week. Per the County: No sound may be audible from the property line during quiet hours. Amplified sound (such as speakers) shall not be used outside or be audible from the parcel line of any short-term rental at any time.

Lights Out: All exterior lights must be turned off that are not needed for safety or other outdoor use to the extent that such other outdoor use is not an unreasonable nuisance to neighbors at night.

Red Flag Warnings: Due to high risk of wildfire in our area, bonfires, charcoal barbecues, and wood-burning fire pits are always prohibited. On designated Red Flag Warning Days—when fire danger is especially severe due to dry conditions and high winds—all outdoor fires are prohibited, including gas grills and gas fire pits. These restrictions come directly from the North Tahoe Fire Protection District and must be followed for everyone’s safety. It is each guest’s responsibility to stay informed about Red Flag Warnings. They are announced on local news, radio, and social media, and you’ll also see signs posted at fire stations throughout the area.

Winter Driving: Many highways, access roads, and driveways in the Tahoe area can become icy during the winter. For your safety, it’s essential that between November 1st and April 30th your vehicle is winter-ready. Make sure brakes, windshield wipers, defroster, heater, and exhaust system are in top condition. Tires should be properly inflated with excellent tread, and you should always carry tire chains—even if you have an AWD/4WD vehicle. Double-check that your chains fit your tires and are in good working order. On many state highways and county roads, four-wheel drive and snow tires are required for safe travel.
Please be prepared for winter conditions: dress appropriately, stay in bounds at ski resorts and if you get lost, remain in place.

Garbage & Bears: Please do not feed the bears. Black bears are very common in this area and, over time, many have become used to human food and trash. Because they no longer have a natural fear of people, you may see them during your spring, summer, or fall stay. Feeding bears is illegal, and leaving food outside, trash unsecured, or doors and windows unlocked can lead to serious property damage to both homes and vehicles. To help prevent this, all waste must be placed in bear-proof bins or dumpsters and the latches secured. Placer County sorts recycling from the waste for you at our materials recovery facilities.

Office Holiday Hours
The TTVR office is closed on New Year’s Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Therefore, we are unable to accommodate check-ins and check-outs on these dates. Thank you for understanding.

Fantastic weekend
Kay’s retreat cabin was in a very peaceful neighborhood. With three bedrooms and three bathrooms there was plenty of space for a long family weekend. The recently updated and well equipped kitchen opens to the dining and living areas. Having parking available in the garage was a bonus. Appreciated the helpful and accommodating host. Would definitely stay here again.

Great
We had a really great stay at Kay's Retreat. There are really only two things that I wish were different. I wish we would have known that a fan in each room didn't mean a ceiling fan. The box fans were very loud and made it challenging to socialize or watch TV while our son was sleeping. The first day was extremely hot in the house and I believe that is because no one had been there recently to open up the house and let fresh air in. The rest of the days/nights we were able to get comfortable between the fans and night air. The other thing that would have been nice would have been to have a toaster in the downstairs bedroom. My mother in law is an early riser, so we had to tote the toaster up and down the stairs everyday. Lake Tahoe is beautiful and we would definitely stay at Kay's Retreat again, just maybe in the winter next time.

It was such an amazing stay
My family and I had such a great stay here. The property was spacious, clean, and cozy all at the same time. Everything looks just like the pictures and the mornings there are very tranquil. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in north Lake Tahoe area. We will be booking in the future. :)

Great Stay at Kay's Retreat
The cabin seemed recently updated. Everything looked new, clean and modern. We were a family of 5 (two adults and three teen kids) and were very comfortable. It has three separate bedrooms and three separate bathrooms, one of them (bedroom and bathroom downstairs with a kitchenette). The house was easy to find. The entry to the garage is a bit tight, but there is plenty of parking in front of the house if you don't want to park inside. All our questions were answered within the day via email (we did not text, probably that would have given us faster responses). All in all, I would repeat staying here if available
